Plan a session for 10-11 year olds (rounders)

I am trying to plan a session for 10-11 year olds in rounders. They are new to the sport. I want to make sure they learn skills as well as have progressions, any ideas? I am also struggling to fit it into the sessionplan template. Help x

Hi Tracey,

I've attached a blank session which hopefully will help you to get to grips with the session planner.

When you open this session select 'Copy'. This will create a copy of the session which you can then edit so that you can add your own notes and drills from the Sportplan library.

With regards planning your session it would be a good idea to start with a quick warm up (jogging and stretching) before then focusing on a skill - this could be throwing, catching, bowling or batting. To do this get players to work in pairs so that they get as much time as possible to practice and perfect the skill. You can walk around the pairs and check players' technique and correct any mistakes.

Then finally try to think up a good conditioned game which puts the skill back into a game situation - this will help to reinforce the skill.

Hope these little tips help and if there's anything else we can help you with please ask (reply to this answer thread).

All the best,
The Sportplan Team
