DESCRIPTION

  • Player maintains backhand cross court rally from service line. 
  • After every shot player recovers to the middle and jumps over the cone.

COACHING POINTS

In this drill player improves technical and physical abilities. Short distance between player and coach increases intensity for physical goal while at the same time puts more emphasis on controlling the ball while hitting backhand. Coach should pay attention to player's work and look for sympthoms when there are more mistakes. Common reasons why players drop quality of rallies are tiredness and wrong positioning to the ball after the jump. Coach should explain to players what they should do physically and mentally to be able to survive during the most difficult moments of this exercise.
