Aim - to encourage lateral movement Work in threes. Start with a ball on every cone. The worker starts at the bucket (middle) and works laterally to each cone to retrieve the ball and bring it back to the middle. see how many retrieved in 30 seconds. once all the balls are in the middle the next worker can try to take each ball back from the middle and place it by the cones.
This practice is to help the backstop and fielder at 1st post to improve the speed of delivery in trying to get the batter out.

The rest of the players line up to to one at the time step into the batting square to dummy hit the ball and try to to beat the ball from the backstop to the 1st post by running as fast as possible to touch 1st post

Player 1 rolls the ball along the ground for player 2 to run and do an underarm flick back to player 1 who catches the ball and puts it down.
Player 2 to join the back of the line.
Player 3 repeats the drill.
Swap roles after 10Â successful flick and catches, if the ball gets dropped start counting back at 0.

Two players per team, stood about 4-5 metres apart between two cones (the goal).
Both teams must try to protect their goals by stopping the opposition from throwing the ball through their goal.
Using only underarm throws players must try and score in their opponent's goal.
A goal is awarded every time their opponent either drops the ball or fails to prevent it passing between their cones.
Pairs stand 3 to 4 metres apart between a pair of cones (their goal).

One player starts outside the square with the ball the next player this player rolls the ball for the next player to runs out and gathers to throw the ball for the next player After each go it is important that the players return to the square.
The player at the front of the 2 players runs to the middle to collect the ball on the cone and roll it to the player on the opposite side. This player collects the ball and runs to the middle to put the ball on the cone. The next player then runs to collect the ball and rolls the ball for next player waiting.
This Drill is where the 2nd player in the line rolls the ball into the field for the 1st player in the line to gather and throw at the fielder at 4th post. The 4th post player then throws the ball to the new 2nd player in the line whomÂ repeatsÂ the exercise.
Organise a group as shown in the diagram. On the coach's command of "Yes" the batsman (white player) runs up and down between the 2 posts. At the same time players in team B (blue players) throw and catch the ball to each other. As the batsman completes their 2nd run the next batsman sets off. Count the total number of catches made when the last better completes their final run.

Set Up: Players work in groups of 3 with 2 balls. Players A, B and C should be spread out over 20m, with player C standing in the centre between 2 cones. The Drill: Player A rolls the ball between the cones towards player C. Player C moves towards the ball, picks it up and releases it underarm back to player A. Player C then turns and repeats the drill from player B. Player C to work for 30 seconds then rotate i.e A to C, C to B, and B to A.
Two cones are placed left and right in front of the feeder. Ball is fed into play. The closest player creates a wall to stop the ball and the other play backs up the first player. The ball is then thrown to the post and the ball thrower follows the ball to the post.

1 feeder in the batting square with 1 ball. Rest of the players in a line in the field. The feeder feeds different kinds of ball into the field for the front player of the line to collect and return before going to the back of the line to wait for their next turn
Divide players into two teams, one fielding and one batting. The fielding team bowls 4 consecutive balls to a better. Once the batter has hit all 4 balls into the field, all of the batters on the batting team must run around all the bases at the same time, as many times as they can before all of the balls have been returned by the fielding team. The next batter then does the same, and all of the batters run when all 4 balls have been hit. Do this for each batter on the batting team, before the fielding team goes in to bat. Winner is the team with the most rounders scored.
Organisation: Divide the group into 2 equal teams and organixe as shown in the diagram. The ball is rolled underarm towards the opposition's goal. 1 point is scored each time the ball passes between the cones and strikes the wall behind the goal. If sufficient space is available overarm throws (bounced) may be used. Equipment: 1 ball, and 4 marker cones.
