Practise of the delivery from the low position of the turn. Practise turning feet and hips ahead of the implement.
Hammer
A practice to move through toes and heels during a turn. Correct rotation through both the heel and toes are necessary to generate motion
It is often worth building up from one or 2 turns to the full competitive throw.
The handle is swept through the full pull range of the delivery with legs bent at start.
Entry to the first turn is made by rotating on the left toe pushing the hammer out to the left as wide as possible, maximizing the radius of orbit.
The swings should be attempted with the plane of orbit of the hammer as flat as possible and as bigger radius as possible. This is done by straightening the arms as the hammer swings in front of the athlete.
