Great drills and practices thank you. Have used to great success for...
Steve, Clayesmore Prep School

DESCRIPTION

  • pressure starts 5 seconds after settled clear allowing everyone to sprint to their spots
  • best D pole (hawk) will come up to midline and switch with middy ready to be an ultra aggressive ball hawk
  • Our goalie marks up on the closest attackmen while not jeaprodizing a completely wide open net
  • attack rides hard pressuring ball side
  • if the ball enters between the 35-50 in defending half, we collapse on the ball from the outsides
  • if a man is in your zone you must lock him off
  • if there are two men in your zone, then the next closest zone can shade closer to support

COACHING POINTS

  • Communication is key
  • Communication is key
  • Communication is key
  • Do not get caught ball watching or it could turn into a transition goal
  • play fast and athletic, we must be strong athletes to make up the space inbetween zones
  • Fast break middy must be slow to slide
  • use your stick in passing lanes to deter passes
  • play body defense to try to pinch a ball carrier between two zones. throwing checks risks giving up position to stay in front of the ball carrier.
  • working as a team you will find the best results. talk it through with your teammates
