DESCRIPTION

  • blue players form a line with 2-3 feet of space between and stick in the middle of the "tunnel"
  • Blue players are holding sticks firmly and applying some controlled stick checks
  • red must cradle, protect their stick while running through the gauntlet
  • coach is at the end with a blocking pad and the red player must drive to goal and shoot
  • each group of 3-4 runs through 2-3 times then the players switch

COACHING POINTS

  •  cradling technique in the "box" ear to ear
  • stick protection with body: shoulders. back, "turtle shell"
  • move quickly through pressure
  • shoot with tight space
