2 vs 1 in the Circle

The 2 defenders inside the circle must ensure one of them is always marking the attacker inside the circle. While one player marks the defender, the other should be covering the space and looking to make the interception.

Defend as a Pair

The two defenders are covering the space inside the circle - and a bit like piggy in the middle they are trying to win back the ball. As one defender moves towards the player with the ball and tries to prevent one pass, the other defender attempts to cover the space for the other pass.

Zone defence

Moving Spider

Zonal Defending

2 lines of players start of the backline. Attacking players set up, stationary in a triangle formation, opposite the 2 lines about 5 meters away. 1 defenders starts by positioning themselves in the middle of the stationary attackers. Ball starts with 1 of the players on the backline. The pass to the other player on the backline and immediately get in a defensive position to intercept a pass. The player who has received the ball looks to pass to 1 of the stationary attackers. The stationary attacker then returns the pass to the player on the backline. The backline player then attempts to make another pass to an attacker. The 2 defending players should be occupying space around the attackers, looking to intercept the passes from the baseline player.
