Intector follows ball towards stopper who then playes the ball back into the path of the injector for a deflection.

Right to Left Rotation

As with the Right to Left rotation, players play out a 3 v 2 counter attack if the defenders win the ball back.

Player 1 runs through slalom passes the ball down the board to the reverse stick of player 2 who passes the ball to player 3 who moves towards the ball and turns infield to run and pass the ball to player 4 who started his/her run on the half way line to receive the ball and run into the circle and shoot on the move

Rotation Game

Left to right rotation. Feeders can receive the ball back from the attackers. If the defenders get the ball back, play out a 3 v 2 counter attack against the feeders.

Work on the rotation. This is the standard pattern - Left-Right (L-R) rotation, and will be made reference to in the next few drills. Players make the leads in an anti-clockwise direction. Game Rules 3 on 3 attacking in half the pitch 2 defenders used as feeders. forwards roll the simple rotation pattern. Forwards can use the feeders to keep possession. When the defence win back the ball they play out a 3 v 2 against the feeders.

Plaers start in one half with the ball dribble thropugh the slalom (2 cones) and pass the ball to the player coming outofthe the circle to receive the ball then do a hook dribble into the circle and shoot at goal pass and follow exercise can be doen both ways at the same time.

Work on the ability to score using deflections. The player movement should get the player in the correct body position to make the deflection.

Practice the drag flicks. Dribble into the 'D' and shoot with a drag flick.

Drill working on dynamic movement to lead to dynamic shooting. This will increase the power and deception that you can put on your shots.

Drill to develop one-touch passing. Emphasis should be on generating power with one touch passing. Make use of the sideboards.

The Game

Play a full game. Defensive structure: Front 2 players block middle and left boards. Back 3 players mark man to man. Attacking structure: 2 backs, 3 forwards and 1 forward standing in the circle.

Using Board 2 vs 1

The forward (blue 1) gives the ball to the opposition's defender and then tries to win the ball back. Once they have the ball the defender plays out the 2 vs 1, deciding whether to try and go alone or make use of the extra player.

Set up a line of cones about 5 to 8 metres away from the boards forming a long thin pitch. Make two end zones 2 teams of 4 nominate a player to stand in their side's allocated end zones. The player in the end zone is the support player and can be used to keep possession. The aim of the game is for one of the teams to pass or dribble into their end zone.
