Although handball is a highly physical sport it remains a very fair game with very few deliberate fouls. For that reason players should be encouraged to embrace the physical nature of the game from an early age and that's precisely what this session aims to do - with a series of contact exercises, great for players young and old!
What's in the Session?
To help your players get used to contact, while respecting the rules of the game, this session has four physical drills, great for team-building, which you can use at your next training!
After using this session players will be more prepared for physical contact in their next game.
Being pushed and pulled is part and parcel of playing handball and the earlier your players learn this, the better their competitive character will become!
Handball demands explosive power, repeated sprint ability, and the strength to compete physically for 60 minutes. Sport-specific conditioning develops the athletic qualities that underpin elite performance.
Handball matches are won and lost in critical moments. Mental toughness determines who executes under pressure, who recovers from setbacks, and who maintains concentration throughout 60 intense minutes.
Deception is the great equaliser in handball. Smaller, less powerful players can beat defenders through feints and misdirection. Mastering these skills creates breakthrough opportunities against even the most organised defences.
