Handball: pass keeper

Never underestimate the power of a goalkeeper. Coach fast breaks starting from the back, leading from your goalkeeper.

Work from back to front and use your keeper to launch the fast break from the back! Seamlessly turning Defence into Attack!

The attackers line on both sides if the court, each with a ball, and take it in turns to run forwards, take the ball round the defender and have a half pace shot on goal (making it easy for the keeper to gather the ball).

As soon as the defender sees the keeper make the save they then make their move up field - presenting themselves as a passing option for the keeper.

The keeper should then release the ball into the path of the break-away defender who then moves up field to the centre line before then jogging to rejoin the back of the line to go again.

B1 and B2 throw at the goal.
Goal keeper gets the ball and passes to B3 or B4.

Two attacking players stand on either side of the goal area line and take it in turns to have gentle shots on goal (making it easy for the keeper to gather the ball).

Once the keeper has stopped the shot they should pass the ball up the centre of the court into the path of the red player in front of them.

Red players should aim to receive the ball on the move and then sprint forwards, dribbling the ball  with them, to the cone on the Centre line.

Player 1, 2, 3 and 5 throw the ball at the goal.

The Goalkeeper must catch the ball and pass as quickly as possible, taking only one step, to player 4.
