DESCRIPTION

Players pass the ball clockwise around the area.

The players nearest the end players receive the ball alternately and throw the ball to the next player who then passes to the end player.

After they have made a pass the players inside in the square cross the court.

COACHING POINTS

Concentrate on the pass.

Watch out for collisions - pay attention at all times.

Anti-Clockwise - Triple Threat

Blue players pass the ball around the grid, always throwing the ball in front of the player so that they have to meet the ball.

This time though there are 6 players stood between the outer edge players and three defenders who are working together to mark two players each.

The central defender must only go up and down, always marking the central blue players. Defender 1 and 2 must work together and cross over so that player one is always marking the player on their right side and player two is always marking on the outside left.

Anti-Clockwise Contest

Blue players pass the ball around the grid, always throwing the ball in front of the player so that they have to meet the ball.

As the blue players run out to meet the pass green 1 and 2 must also run out to contest and defend the ball.

warming-up : Give and Go snake run passing

The first player waiting in line passes to the first player on the cone and immediately follows their pass and runs behind that player to receive the return pass.

Once they have the ball in hand again they pass the ball to the next player and drive behind them to loop in front of them and receive the ball again.

Once the player reaches the end of the course they dribble the ball to the corner and then sprint around the court back to the end of the line with the ball in hand.

Defend Breaks 6

Players run forwards and after 15 meters or a whistle from the trainer, the players turn around and jump on one leg. They then watch the trainer who waves a coloured shirt or just their left or right arm and players run backwards in that direction with a cross-over technique. Running backwards should be done with cross-over legs. Always face up to watch for 'opponents'.

Players run forward into the direction of the trainer and watch the trainer who waves a coloured shirt or just their left or right arm and players change into this direction, running backwards with cross-over technique. After the players have arrived, the trainer has to switch places. Always face up to watch for 'opponents'.

Defensive Contacts

To practice coming together players must side-step between the cones. When they come to the close together clones players should come together, jump towards one another and clap hands while jumping up. Players continue this pattern and and then run back to the start.

Defensive stance

As players run forward to defend they should think about their stance and approach: They should take small, fast steps (never jump) to avoid over-committing. Approach diagonally, facing towards the ball, and angling their body to direct their opponent away from the goal area. Keep their arms open, wide and high. Stand on the balls of their feet with knees slightly bent.

Blue players step forward and attack their opponent every time he is in possession. Change after 5-8-10 times.

Step Forward Defence

Defenders 1 and 2 step forward to two players in the square, turn around quickly and step forward again. 1. Ball movement from left to right. 2. Ball moves from right to left. 3. Attackers choose their own ball movements.

Stuck between a rock and a hard place

Players move between the two cones while passing the ball to one another. To move players should side-step, always facing forwards and keeping an eye on the other players.
