Also known as the pedalada, the Denílson, or the scissors, the step over is a dribbling move, or feint, used to fool a defender into thinking the attacker is going to move in a direction he does not intend to move in.<\/blockquote>\r\n\r\n

To give your players the confidence to use this 1v1 skill to beat their player on both sides this session guides them through the basics and then pushes them to use the skill at match-pace.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

With a clear drills progression you'll be able to teach your players to perform this dribbling technique, push off and drive past their man. Sure there'll be a few lost balls along the way but that's all part of the learning process!<\/p>\r\n\r\n

The step over, popularised in the 90s by Ronaldo (who at the time was the best player in the world and his national team's top scorer) and nowadays by the Portuguese Ronaldo, is a great move for getting defenders off balance and creating space to play the pass or to get past your man.<\/p>\r\n\r\n
