The focus of this week's session is on giving your batters some much needed time batting on grass; a chance to adjust to the pace and bounce of the wicket after a winter away from the crease.
In this session we work less on the finer details of batting techniques and more on keeping things simple - particularly focusing on playing straight and late. Ensure your players are aware of playing too many cross-bat shots on early season wickets, when the ball is moving around and seaming off the pitch!
All the exercises in this session come with their own progressions and batting goals for your players. The beginning of the season is the perfect time to develop your batters' mindsets to the game, so it's for this reason that we set your players some SMART goals:
Get your batters back in the game and set them some targets for the season ahead today. The players who adapt best early season to bowler friendly wickets will prosper most!
Follow Kohli?s lead and emphasise the importance of fitness in the modern game to give your team the edge when going into the first game of the season with this strenuous, but rewarding, session.
The wicket keeper is always in the game - make sure they're up to the test with this keeping skills session!
