Activity- Class splits into pairs or groups of three, if in three they have to take turns so everyone gets a go. One person stands at the side of the net with about three shuttles and one person stands at opposite side of net at service line and the person standing at the side throws the shuttles to the person at service line and they have to try and perform a smash successfully, each has three attempts then switches. Adaptions/Progressions- If too easy try with the person serving the shuttle to you or if too difficult practice over head clear for first few attempts then try to do it more powerful so its more like a smash. Coaching points- Start on your left leg and bring your right one forward to perform the smash, aim downwards to gain more power. For people who are struggling focus on getting your swing correct for over head clear and focus on footwork also.
