Players : 22 or more 1 Ball Blue players are forwards and Red players are defenders. Ball starts with Kicker who kicks high to a Marking Contest. Crumbers attempt to win the ball. Deep pocket players join in from behind. If Blue (forwards) win the ball they can try to score a goal. Mid A has to decide whether to support his teammates to win the ball or spread to opposite back pocket to receive. Depending on what Mid A does, Mids B and C spread to become targets. When players are out of the contest they spread to opposite side of the ground to assist (attack or defend)
The aim is to teach defenders to win the ball from a contest and with the help of mids switch the ball to the other side and move it down the ground. Variations Extra attackers could be added to the mids groups to make it more difficult to clear the ball. Drill could be set up to continue on opposite side of ground
