Picking up Ball - Side on, use your body not your head. - Pick up and bump simultaneously in one motion. - Low centre of gravity, then rise through the tackle bag. Leading - Leading straight at kicker is a very difficult kick to make. Creates a small âhit zoneâ. - Leading at a 45 degree angle is easier for both kicker and marker to judge the distance and flight of the ball.
