Assisted Straight Jump

Working in pairs the gymnast stands with arms horizontal. The supporter stands behind with hands on gymnasts hips. Gymnast flexs knees and swings arms inwards and upwards as the legs drive upwards. The supporter lifts the gymnast to help gain height. On landing the knees and hips flex and arms move to horizontal.

Bench Jumps

Stand on a bench in a 'Y' shape. Swing arms down, back and up as knees are flexed and extended into a straight jump. Flex knees on landing with arms horizontal.

Long Shape from Trampette.

Fast approach run up from 6m, focus on trampette Long hurdle step. Arms swing up at this phase of the skill. On impact with trampette lower arms to aid balance. Rebound firmly swinging arms upwards to gain height and to create a long body shape. Landing, flex at hips and knee joints to absorb impact. Recover to stand up right.

Low Straight Vault

From a 4m run take off form one foot to land on bench with two feet together. Straight jump useing good arm swing to promote good height and balance. Land on mats with flexed knees and wide arms.

Start 4m from the mat Run to step into two foot take off. Jump high keeping body straight. Two foot landing bending kness to absorb impact.

Straight Bounce

Stand with arms horizontal. Flex knees and drive upwards fully extending ankles. Land flexing knees to absorb impact.

Straight Jump from Springboard

From a 4m run take off one foot to land on spring board with both feet together. With good arm swing jump for height keeping the body straight. Land with flexed knees, feet together and wide arms.
