Bullseye Chipping / Pitching

SET-UP: Use tees/cones to set up a bullseye around a hole/target preferably in the centre of the putting green. Split pupils into teams and space equally along the same side of the Target so that they are playing in roughly the same direction. ACTIVITY: Players chip into the target scoring points for various sections of the target. Highest score after a certain amount of shots/time wins.

Island Hopper

SET-UP: Place a number of 'islands' on the practice area using hoops, cones etc. Divide players into teams. ACTIVITY: The first player in each team attempts to chip the ball from the tee onto the island. If successful the whole team move to that island and the next player in the team then attempts to chip the ball onto the next island. If a player misses then the next player tries until one member of the team has been successful.

Jockey's Revenge

SET-UP: Set out a series of 'jumps' using marker cones. Use a cone to mark the beginning of the course. Mark out a safe area for non-hitters. Split the group into teams. Line the teams up at the starting point. Give the player at the front of the line a club and a ball. ACTIVITY: Players try to get over the 'jumps' in turn. Players have to clear each fence and land before the next to move onto the next fence. When all players have been over the 'jumps' team sits down. The first team to be sitting down wins.

Sector Ball

SET-UP: Split the group into teams. Mark out sectors using string chalk or other suitable markers. Mark out a hitting area within each sector and a safe area for non-hitters. Give each team one iron and a ball to share. ACTIVITY: Players take it in turns to try and land th ball in the opposing team's sector. All players must stand outside their sector when th opposing team is playing. A point is scored if the ball lands in the opposing team's sector. The team with the most number of points after a specific number of hits or set period of time wins.

Soft Landing

SET-UP: Mark a line on the landing area using string, tees, markers, cones, etc. Mark out a hitting area Mark out a safe area for non-hitters. ACTIVITY: In turn players attempt to pitch the ball so that it stops as close to the line as possible. Award 5,3,1 points for the best 3 shots.
