Community | Practice 1 v 1 corner, over behind net, backwards

DESCRIPTION

(Top) P1 carries puck passes to P2 who waits in the corner. P2 can attack the net however they want. P1 tres to angle them behind the net to minimize their scoring chance. (Progress to adding a second attacker on opposide side of the net for a 2 on 1. (Bottom) 1 V 1 pass to neutral coach. Protecting the net and pass and move tactics. Two players leave together passing the puck followed by a bounce pass off the wall, or direct, and then attack the opposite net together 2 on 0. Start with only the behind the net pass and progress to the extra pass shown in the image. Backwards partner pass progression. Forward slide to backward pivot, Forward backwards pivot transition to forwards, begin backwards step out inside edge, P1 starts backwards, P2 starts forward add a pass or two as each pivot.

COACHING POINTS

Angles, 1 V 1, competition, defending and attacking the net. Passing, eyes up, using boards to pass, leading the player, passing with speed. Forwards to backwards transitions, pivots, stepping out riding inside edge, adding a pass.
