DESCRIPTION

Four Tires signal the start of lines. 1 Player lines up in the middle and can either start on their knees, stomach or standing in a normal ready position. Coach passes the puck to the first player in line and they play 2 on 1. Off should be encouraged to use behind the net or cross with each other. Not always skating in a straight line. Crossovers + Turn. All 4 players cross over to the left and turn right. A changes with A and B changes with B. If you have variety of skills you can group skills together. Back check angling. P1 (blue) leaves without a puck and gets a pass from coach. After they carry behind the net and are about even with P2 (red) P1 will try to score and P2 must back check. Try to have a good angle to force the offensive player wide. Alternate sides.

COACHING POINTS

Passing, 2 on 1, backwards skating. Skating, turning, crossovers, add puck eventually, puck handling. backchecking, angling, skating fast with the puck.
