P2 skates towards P1 and holds a glide. Can also have player 2 defend with inside edges only, or backwards only if faster. In simple version go straight into line after gliding, shoot after handling passed the player. Same as 1. Picture shows skating to defend but feet stay on ice. Breakout/NZ post intro. P1 skates to the wall. P2 carries and turns. Can have P2 return to line or pass to coach and turn. Can also make the drill continuous for advanced group. Advanced continuous variation of breakout/post intro. Stick to the middle, make a perpendicular collision with the puck. Coach places a puck behind the net or in the corner and stands behind P1 who stands on the dot. P2 is behind the coach not in a passing lane. When coach says go they pressure P1 and try to steer. P2 must take the best angle to get open and receive a pass and shoot. Eventually progress to 2 support players and trying to add a pass. All 3 stay in support of each other. Showing puck in the corner. The yellow players in both examples show good spots where the puck can be supported. players should attack 2 on 1 as fast as possible.
