We will make our breakout practice fun. Number the players off 1,2 and 3. Start as a scrimmage with a face off between 1s and 2s in the defensive zone. 3s wait and watch in the neutral zone. Let it run 30-45 seconds then stop it with a whistle and reposition the defensive team with possession of the puck behind the net. D1 on puck, D2 front of net, Wingers on the boards and Center ready to follow the pass up the boards from D1. Meanwhile clear the Offensive players out to the Red line and have second line ready to carry a new puck in for a 5 on 5 scrimmage with same Defensive team, after the Defensive team finishes their initial breakout. Have new puck carried in wide. Run each team through two breakouts each.
