DESCRIPTION

Blue player 1 - starts the drill by grabbing a puck from the corner and works to the front of the net, the player must make a pass to the other blue players or take a shot on net for a goal or rebound. After blue X1 makes a play they grab another puck and repeat the drill with puck 2 and puck 3. The red player Y1, is battling in front and working to ensure that a pass is not made, but also focusing on the puck, they must decide to hold the battle out front or break to make a check on blue x1.

COACHING POINTS

Blue x1 must make a heads up play, shoot or pass. As the drill progresses the coach will put pressure on Blue x1. Blue x2 needs to work for positioning and get open for a pass, if a shot happens they need to dig for a rebound. Red Y1, is battling to keep the blue X2 out of possition, when the Blue X1 has the puck they must keep position and decide to pressure the puck or keep a pass from coming.
