A and D are lined up at corners on the whistle A runs and rises the ball and runs towards the corner. D is also running towards the corner. When A gets there he is to try and hit the ball over D's Cone. D is trying to get the block in. Explain to A that he is not to try and evade D, that he must hit it from the cone.
This drill is all about the block. therefore explain this to the kids before they start as the natural inclination of A is to avoid D. The key thing for D is to emphasise that you want them to block the hurluy on the bas. This will ensure they dont get hit. It is important that they keep the hurley up as some of them have a tendencay to block downwards leaving them exposed to getting hit.
