Players in pairs, opposite each other, with multiple skills practiced. Start close together with hand passes back and forth. Move on to one player throwing it above the other players head and that player bats the ball back (3 - 5 goes for each and then swap). Widen distance between players and move on to ground strikes back and forth (on both sides). Widen distance again and move on to short air strikes (short grip and short passes). Competition can be introduced for each drill to keep the intensity.
Each player should get lots of touches of the ball with these drills, and difficulty and intensity can be varied by group depending on ability (e.g. ground and air strike on weak side only,).
