Set up a gauntlet using cones, divide kids evenly on both sides of the gauntlet. Give each kid (A) a ball. On the whistle the coach/parent (black arrow) must walk backwards though the gauntlet. Kids must try and hit them with their ball by kicking it out of their hands. They can have another go if they can quickly gather a loose ball. Coaches should move from child to child helping them with their technique. If kicking from the hand is too difficult get them to kick from the ground. Progress the activity so that the coach/parent can walk forwards and then run. Repeat for non dominant side.
Get them to step forward with their non kicking foot before kicking. Get them to drop/release the ball from the hand on same side as the kicking foot, discourage throwing the ball up in the air before kicking. Get them to point the toe where they want the ball to go.
