Mark out a square with 4 cones and put 2 players (red A) in the square. All the other players (red D) must remain outside the square. Put as many balls as players into the square On the whistle the As must try to kick all the balls out of their hands and clear the square of balls. The Ds must gather the balls as quickly as possible, run back to the square (bouncing the ball as they run) and handpass the ball back into the square. If the As manage to clear the square of balls they win the game. Swap the 2 As after a minute to give a different 2 a go. Question the Ds as to what they should be doing when they are running with the ball. Ask the As should they be kicking the ball hard or soft and where should they direct their kicks. Ask the Ds where should they position themselves.
Get them to step forward with their non kicking foot before kicking. Get them to drop/release the ball from the hand on same side as the kicking foot, discourage throwing the ball up in the air before kicking. Get them to point the toe where they want the ball to go. When bouncing make sure they push the ball to the ground with one hand and catch with two. With the handpass make sure they are striking or pushing the ball off their hand. The hand holding the ball shouldn't move far after the strike.
