Enda Crennan Coach, Ireland

DESCRIPTION

The blue player is the tackler. He stays on the inside of the square. Red players have a ball each and remain outside the square. The red player solos straight towards the cone in front. Blue player is going to try and flick the ball away from the red player. The second red player then begins to solo and the blue player chases him until the four reds have been tackled. Change the man in the middle.

COACHING POINTS

Make sure the reds solo in a straight line, this is about the tackle. Blue must tackle with the inside arm, do not reach across with the the outside arm. Try to get them to time there tackle when their opponent is takinng a hop or a solo. This is when the ball is least in their grasp.
