Hi do you have anything for player self evaluation ?
If you have a senior coach at your club they may be the best person to seek help from. Player self evaluation is best used in high level teams with experienced knowledgeable coaches. If you want players to evaluate their own strengths & weaknesses you also need to be able guide & support them through the process, provide them with clear methods of measurement and be able to give constructive feedback & training goals for improvement. To be of any value it would need to be very specific incorporating skills, team interactions, positional play and fitness as a minimum. Self evaluation done on a generalised basis is pointless and doesn`t get players identifying and really thinking about their own skills.
Not sure if this is exactly what you`re after but I made this sheet up and gave it to my 15/16 year olds, and found it particularly helpful.
I`ve know most of the girls I coach for many years (this is my second year coaching them), but found the sheet gave me great background on each of them. In particular, what they thought their role in the team was, where they felt they wanted to improve and how they saw team mates.
It`s not ideal and its no replacement to observing them, but it was a great tool that gave me a starting place on how best to help each of them individually and as a team.
Good luck.
