Can you jump as you shoot in Netball?

Can you jump as you shoot in Netball?

I know the normal technique for shooting in netball keeps two feet on the ground, but I would just like to know whether that would be a foul if you jumped as you took your shot? Thanks

hahah...obviously you are from a basketball background with wanting to take a "jump shot" and concerned about being "foulled". you can jump and shoot provided you release the ball prior to making contact with the ground. if you did not, this would be called a step (or travel in basketball lingo). If while jumping, and you jump and make contact with the ball or your body with the defender then it will be your contact (foul). I have seen a lot of male shooters use the jump shot successfully, but to me its not netball. but hey, as long as the ball goes in the goal ring, then go for it.
