DESCRIPTION

Aims: to practice lift drag & lift Pitch setup: small circle that players mustn't enter for safety reasons sets of 3 blue cones placed around playing area hurdles (or hockey sticks / sets of 3 red cones) placed around playing area Procedure: Q: What does "elimination"/"3D" mean in hockey? Demonstrate how to lift ball by dragging back towards body then lifting. All practice it, going from one line to other. Players have [60]s to lift over as many hurdles as possible, then shoot in the goal. Demonstrate how to lift ball by feinting left then dragging L>R and lifting. All practice it, going from one line to other. Players have [60]s to drag+lift over as many sets of blue cones as possible, then shoot in the goal. Variations: experienced players: practice R>L drag + lift (with upright reverse stick). Progression: practice 1v1 circle entry rugby hockey game (i.e. no forward passing allowed) to practice carrying + elimination.
