Soccer: Near Post - Middle Shot

Great drills and practices thank you. Have used to great success for...
Steve, Clayesmore Prep School

DESCRIPTION

The keeper covers the near post and stops the shot from the first feeder.

After they've gathered the ball they roll it back and then move quickly around the edge of the coned area to close down the angle on the next shot.

The middle shot is played low by the second feeder and the keeper must react quickly to get down and try to smother/block this second ball.

COACHING POINTS

After stopping the second ball the keeper should roll the ball back and then move quickly to cover the front post again.
