Players stand in a square by a cone each.
They pass the ball around either clock wise or anti clock wise.
After the player passes the ball they have to follow their pass touch the cone of the player they passed to and get back to their cone before receiving the next pass.
1) All team - legs straddle - pass ball between legs to back person - (s)he runs to front of line. Repeat until all have completed it.
2) Same idea but this time under legs then next person passes over head, next under legs (under/over/under etc.)
3) Same idea but twist hips to pass to person behind first to the left then to the right - back person runs to front.
First team to win 3/4/5 races.
Work in pairs
Coach calls out a number and that pair reacts and runs around the cones - one attacks and the other defends
Progressions: Swap sides
in groups of 3.
1 player with a pad 1 player with a tackle bag and one with nothing.
Player with nothing runs to the player with the pad and drives them across the grid.on reaching the end they swap roles and the other player runs across the grid to the tackle bag pushes and makes a tackle at the end of the grid and the players swap roles the new player runs across to the player with the pad and the practice continues.
Set up the cones as shown.
12 Cones with 2 balls.
Start with 2 players on the centre cone, each with a ball, and facing each other. On GO, the both run backwards to the first cone then side step up the grid to the second cone before running through the slalom cones back to the start where the ball is passed to the next players who only go when each player has received a ball.
