DESCRIPTION

Carry the ball in a high position and try to engage the defender.

When players reach the cones at the end they will have to pass to the coach on their right before the defender near the cones can get to the ball.

Grids part 3:

4 balls - pass ball to next person on cone to left (clockwise) then right (anticlockwise).

Passing

Individual ball carrying 4:

One of the coaches passes the ball to one of the 3 waiting players.

The non-ball-receiving players must ensure that they get either side of the ball carrier so that they have two options - a pass to the left or a pass to the right.

When the players reach the cones at the end of the run the coach will point at the last minute in the direction the player should pass the ball.

Passing

Pass and run:

Set-up a 10 meter grid with a player on each corner.

Player 1 starts with the ball.

Player 1 passes the ball to player 2 and then quickly moves off their cone and runs to the cone where player 2 is and back to their cone.

Player 2 then passes to player 3, follows the pass to the position of player 3 and back to their starting position.

The aim is to for the players to be back in their starting position before the ball returns back.

2 on 1 Attack and Defence Drill:

Set a narrow grid to attack. Defenders and attackers begin on the touchline in the centre. Both leave at the same time and run around appointed cones, ball carrier should accelerate up towards inside shoulder of defender to draw in and then pass to the support runner coming from depth who can run in and score.
