Goal Scoring Opportunities - Sweep Hit

Rating: 4
from 20 members ratings

With a lot of junior teams, you'll often find that players panic when faced with goal and wait too long to take the golden opportunity to shoot and score.

To get players shifting the ball more quickly and taking their chances on their first touch, we look at developing their sweeping strokes on the front stick. Not only is this a fast shot that is likely to catch keepers off guard but it's also a very powerful shot which, when performed correctly, allows players to put their entire body behind the ball - winding up from the hips all the way to their shoulders!

Get your players to put more power into their shots, scoring from the far post!
