To encourage the pupil to adopt a correct stance and ball position for putting.

Pupils begin by standing with their feet together pointing toward the ball (1), move the foot nearest to the target 1 club head towards the target (2), Move the foot furthest from the target two-club heads from the target (3).

Arms and Shoulders

To encourage the player to get a feel for the correct putting stroke

Players begin by clapping their hands together (1) and swing using the arms and shoulders (2). Lower body should remain steady. This gives a feel of using the correct motion rather than the wrists and lower body.

Start Golf - Putting - Exercises

Sector Ball

Create sectors using appropriate markers.

In teams the children attempt to land the ball in the oppositions sector.

Each team scores a point for every time they land the ball in the opponents sector.

Tri Golf - Chipping Games

Grand National

SET-UP
Set out a series of ?jumps? using marker cones
Use a cone to mark the beginning of the course
Mark out a safe area for non-hitters
Split the group into teams
Line the teams up at the starting point
Give the player at the front of the line a club and a ball
ACTIVITY
Players try to get over the ?jumps? in turn
Players have to clear each fence and land before the next to move onto the next fence
When all players have been over the ?jumps? team sits down
The first team to be sitting down wins

Tri Golf - Chipping Games

Over the hazard

Place some upside down cones in between the participant and the target.

Teams get minus points if any ball land or touches the hazard.
