Description
- High knee drills improve the strength of the hip flexors
- This drill has many variations and progresses from a walking step drill into high fast knee pick up and acceleration drills
Coaching points
- Increasing the range of movement and the pawing action of the leading foot as it reaches towards the track precise foot placement and arm action and how the eyes focus straight down the track
- Make sure athletes raise their opposite arm and legs, i.e.right arm with left leg. This will be natural when using the arms to increase sprint speed later
