Drive Activation | Long Jump

Drive Activation:

This drill activates the upward and forward drive of the free leg over the hurdle and produces a good split leg position.

Short Stride Approach | Long Jump

Short Stride Approach:

A short stride approach run builds up the necessary attack onto the board and works on the first part of the flight phase .

2 Footed Standing Jump | Long Jump

2 Footed Standing Jump:

Two footed standing long jump stresses vigorous take off from legs, strong swing of the arms, followed by forward shoot of legs to cover as much distance as possible.

Penultimate Stride | Long Jump

Penultimate Stride:

Focus on the approach run by lengthening the penultimate stride and shortening the final stride prior to take off. This action lowers the centre of gravity and tilts the body backwards in preparation for take off.
