
Depending on the strength of the group you set up two stations between 30 and 50 yards apart. You pair the lads off and the intention is for A to try and hit the ball into Square D (Should be a big square). If it lands in the square he gets a score. If D catches the ball in the air then he gets a score insteat of A. D then tries to do this the other direction. A and D are playing against each other and you count the winner after a couple of minutes (in each group of 2)
We are looking for them to work on their long striking here so get them to use the full hurley. Feet need to be pointing in the direction they are hitting the ball but should not be planted in the ground (they need to turn with the strike) Ensure they are throwing the ball to the hurley (up and out) try and get them not to hit the ball too hard Encourage them to be strikimg off their front foot
