Is your team finding it hard to make their way past the defence? If so, this session plan aims to build on the foundation backhand throwing skills, helping players deceive the opponents using pivots and fakes. This helps the offence make their way around the defence using a series of footwork skills and deceptive fake throws. The drills in this session plan are very demanding as the players are working in small groups (no more than 3 players). This means that they are able to practice these vital skills and perfect them before progressing them into bigger groups and eventually onto the pitch.
By the end of the session the players should be able to add a pivot to their backhand throw identifying the correct foot to pivot on. Additionally they will be able to complete a fake and decide whether or not to release the disc.
