Ultimate: Dish Drill Backhand

 .                        Three handlers are positioned in a ‘V’ shape, with Player 1 starting with the disc

1. There is a defender standing between Player 1 and Player 3
2. Player 2 stands at the bottom of the ‘V’ shape, forming a triangle with Players 1 & 3
3. The objective is to get the disc from Player 1 to Player 3 without throwing near the defender.  To achieve this, Player 1 should turn to throw to Player 2, who is then able to throw to Player 3

1. Use the same principles as “Throwing into space”; practice that one first
2. Set up with a receiver around 5-10m from the thrower
3. The receiver starts by running directly away from the thrower for around 5m
4. The receiver then turns and runs at a 45 degree angle towards and to one side of the thrower, who throws into space for the receiver to make a catch.  
5. The thrower only has one chance, so throw it early

1. Use the same principles as “Throwing into space” and “Longer leading pass”; practice those first
2. Set up with a receiver and defender around 5-10m from the thrower, with the defender standing to one side of the receiver and both facing the thrower
3. The receiver starts by running at a 45 degree angle towards and to one side of the thrower, with the defender staying between the thrower and receiver at all times
4. The receiver then turns and runs directly away from the thrower for around 5m, who throws into space for the receiver to make a catch.
5. The thrower only has one chance, so throw it early

Here’s an example of the “Backhand fake to forehand throw” used in a game situation to throw against the marker

1. Ensure that you are balanced throughout the movement
2. Try to avoid putting your foot down in the middle; it should take a single step to perform this move.
