DESCRIPTION

Reverse stick

  • at this level the reverse stick is used to transfer the ball from left to right and not as a separate technique
  • COACHING POINTS

  • Important to move the ball from the right of the body across to the left before the ball can be reverse stick dragged
  • Right hand loosens grip and turns back of the hand upwards so that the stick can pull the ball from left to right
  • left hand with loose grip pulls the stick and right hand as the guiding hand
  • As the skill is completed keep the left elbow high. The stick should stay in contact with the ball to allow smooth movement across the body. As the player finishes the skill they should return to a good ball carrying position before repeating the skill again.
