Gymnastics Drill Demonstration

Description

  • Using a mid-level box or block
    the gymnast approaches off a short run and hurdle step on to springboard.
  • Gymnast jumps into pike shape and supports place hands.
  • Gymnast beats legs over head and pushes with arms.
  • Supports aid gymnast to exit to feet. One support stands the other (taller) remains kneeling.

    Coaching points

  • Long box encourages more flight.
  • Good use of springboard essential.
  • Do not place springboard to close to box.
