DESCRIPTION

  • Put the apparatus out.

    • Ask the children to go over / under / around the apparatus. Encourage children to explore e.g. ask the children to walk around. The next stage is to ask the children to find a place to either curl up, lay underneath or on top of the apparatus.

    COACHING POINTS

  • Ask the children how they want to travel over / under / along the apparatus.
  • Ask children to travel over / under the apparatus in a curled way.
  • Use children to demonstrate movements.

    key 0 Game/Apparatus:

    Ask the children to move around the hall in a controlled and careful way exploring the apparatus.

    Ask the children to travel in different ways around the hall, focusing on curled and stretched shapes.

    Ask the children to curl up on a pice of apparatus and grow into a stretched shape.
    Hold the stretched shape and count to 5 and then ask the children to stand.

    Benches Game:

  • Take out the apparatus.

    • Travel in and out of the apparatus in different ways e.g in any way the children choose feet, hands, crawl etc. Its is important to keep the children moving all the time. When the apparatus is clear get the children to slide underneath it and step over the top.

  • Set out apparatus.

    Ask the children to travel in/out, under/over the apparatus.

    Ask the children to bounce around the apparatus and to stretch out on it when space can be found.
    Ask the children to travel around the hall in a low curled position.

  • Set out apparatus.

    Ask the children to travel over, under and around the apparatus.

    Ask the children to stretch out wide under or on top of the apparatus.

    Ask the children to travel around the apparatus in a cureled shape and then stretch out wide on the apparatus.
