Golf: Introduction clubs

Scatter some cones (divots) across the area, some the right way up, and some upside down. Split the group into two teams - 'Hackers and Greenkeepers' - and spread them out across the area.

On the word 'Go' the Hackers run round turning the divots upside down and the Greenkeepers must turn them the right way up.

Ask players to stand side on to an intended target with arms
outstretched.
The hand that is nearest to the target is placed at the top of the
club (i.e. nearest to the end of the black grip).
The hand furthest away from the target is placed underneath the
hand at the top, still remaining on the black grip part of the club,
with the hands close together. Alternatively, the throwing palm
should face the target and be nearest the clubhead.

SWINGING THE CLUBS
To enhance safety and assist play, clubs should need to be swung above waist height on
the back swing or follow-through.
To understand how far to swing the club in order to hit the ball the required distance
encourage players to firstly play games by rolling (putting games) or throwing (chipping
games) the ball (see Treasure Island.)
Always encourage players to have a practice (rehearsal) swing in order to ?brush? the
ground with the club before introducing the ball.

This tip demonstrates how each club should have a different flight angle.

Place a p-wedge, 7 iron and a 3 iron on the grond with the club face facing the sky. Gently stand on the club face. There should be a noticable difference between the p-wedge and 3 iron.
