Pivoting in Basketball:
A) Standing 2-5 meters apart in pairs, receive a pass using the W Hands formation - Thumbs behind the ball, and partner then pivots 360 degrees and passes to partner and so on.
B) Dribble out 5-10 meters ahead, scoot stop, pivot and pass back to partner.
Passes can be Chest or Bounce
A) W Hands formation when receiving pass.
Pivoting - move forward rather than backwards, this gives good visual ahead of play.
B) Scoot Stop - after dribbling land and perform a two footed stop. As you stop bend your knees (acting as shock absorbers)
Dribbling - Perfect vision look up (heads -up) Don''t look down and dribble low as this gives poor vision. aim to bounce and dribble the ball waist height.
Dribble to the side of the body and slightly in front.
Don''t dribble directly in front of the body as the ball will land on your feet.
Fingers spread out on the ball don''t dribble with palms of the hand.
Talent wins games, but chemistry wins championships. Building a positive team culture, establishing shared values, and developing trust creates teams that exceed the sum of their parts.
Getting to the rim is only half the battle. Converting against shot blockers and help defenders requires a toolkit of creative finishes. The best scorers have multiple ways to score at the basket.
Traditional positions are becoming obsolete. Modern basketball rewards versatile players who can handle, pass, shoot, and defend across multiple positions. Developing these skills creates valuable, adaptable players.
