Description
Set up as shown in the picture. The ball is pushed out towards the top of the circle, but on this occasion the stopper dummies to stop the ball but leaves it for the player backing up (Blue 7). This player picks up the ball and passes the ball to the right (Blue 4), who in turn takes the ball into the circle to draw the defender before passing to the unmarked attacker (s) on either of the posts.
Coaching Points
- Ensure the stopper looks like they are going to stop the ball.
- Make sure that the ball travels 5 yards outside of the circle - this means that normal open play rules apply i.e. the ball does not need to hit the backboard or be stopped.
- Make sure that Blue 4 takes the ball into the circle to draw the defence out and create space for the other attackers.
