The player at the front of the 2 players runs to the middle to collect the ball on the cone and roll it to the player on the opposite side. This player collects the ball and runs to the middle to put the ball on the cone. The next player then runs to collect the ball and rolls the ball for next player waiting.

One team has to bounce the ball (via overarm throw) into the small square but a team mate must catch it on the other side to score a point.

Split the group into teams of 3 or 4 aside set out an area with cones where the posts would be on the pitch. one ball. The game follows netball rules and is played inside the area. The aim of the game is to throw the ball to one of your players by one of the posts for them to touch the post without having to run.

This Drill is fun and will improve the accuracy of the players throwing the ball to a post in rounders. 2 teams lots of tennis balls and a larger ball (football). The aim is for the players from within their area to try to roll the football to the other side by throwing the tennis balls against it.

Throwing Rounders

Split your players into two teams. The fielding side will need a bowler, a back stop and a player on first base. The rest of the fielders can stand where they like. This game start with a bowl to the hands of the first batting player. The batting player should stand with open hands and catch the ball before throwing it into the fielding area. After throwing the ball out the batting player runs around as many bases as they can. Rules: Players score a point for their team for every complete run they make. Players can be caught or run out in the normal manner. Each player has two goes each before the teams swap around.

Throwng and Catching - conditioned game

Divide your players into two equal teams, one team fields while the other team bats. The coach bowls the ball (underarm) to the batter who must catch the ball before then underarm throwing the ball into the field, instead of hitting the ball. If a batter drops the ball they can only run to first base. In order to get players out the batters can be stumped or caught out.

Warm up drill

Using a set of cricket wickets or posts. Roll the ball along the ground to a team mate. You can run with the ball, but the ball must be rolled along the ground.   Aim to hit the stumps (approach from any side of the square)in the opposition square, using an underarm flick. The square is made up of cones, distance 5-8 metres from the stumps. No fielders at any time are allowed inside the square. The ball is never out of bounds, as there are no boundaries.

Players must sprint along the longer sides of the rectangle and then perform dynamic stretches along the shorter sides. Players can either complete a set number of laps or must continue to work for a set period of time.
