Volleys are a great way to rush and panic your opponent. As they see you running towards the net they'll be aware that you're closing down the angle and that a poorly placed shot by them could result in them losing the point - plus it eliminates the possibility of a dodgy bounce from a bad surface.
To help your players improve their first time volley and the sharpness of their second volley (aka the put away volley) this session works on accurate placement and the use of the split-step before the shot which is the basis for all movement and balance around the net.
We start this session with a simple pairs drills - volleying into your partner's hands on the other side of the net before progressing from coach lead drills to a live point volleying drill!
