This footwork drill is the starter to dragging. Students run the course by stepping forward past the cones and then striding to the left or right to reach the hoop. Once players can do this drill comfortably without ball introduce ball. When moving forward start by keeping ball only on front stick. When players can stride left and right coaches can add dribbling around the cones first.
No noise on the turn to reverse stick. Large strides to the hoop - place hoop just outside the stepping distance.
